Clinical Supervision with Meaningful Connections

A collaborative space for therapists to reflect, grow, and ensure ethical practice

My Approach to Clinical Supervision

“Supervision, to me, is not about me having all the answers. It’s about creating a space where you can pause, reflect, and grow — without shame. I bring my background in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and ADHD and trauma informed care into every supervision session. Whether you’re working with intergenerational trauma, intercultural couples, anxious teens, or exhausted caregivers, I’ll help you find clarity, confidence, and your own authentic clinical voice. I’m also fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi — so if language or culture is part of your clinical work, we can explore that together.”
Yasmeen Rafiq, RSW

My work as a clinical supervisor is deeply informed by the Empowered Supervision course—a training focused on transitioning from hierarchical gatekeeping to a reflective, strengths-based partnership.

This means our time together prioritizes:

  • Your clinical autonomy and professional voice

  • Ethical decision-making without shame

  • Practical tools to prevent burnout and vicarious trauma

Who This Clinical Supervision Is For

My supervision is designed for therapists and trainees who want more than just case review — they want to grow. I work best with clinicians who are curious, reflective, and maybe a little tired. You might be an MSW intern feeling overwhelmed by your first interracial couple. Or a registered psychotherapist stuck with an ADHD client who keeps missing sessions. Or a caregiver support worker running on empty.

I especially welcome supervisees who work with:

  • Interracial & intercultural couples

  • South Asian, immigrant, or multi-heritage families

  • ADHD adults (and their partners)

  • Older adults and burned-out caregivers

  • Anyone carrying intergenerational trauma

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to show up. So if language or culture is part of your clinical work, we can explore that together without translation gaps.

  • "I've been where you are. Let me walk with you from here."

  • "The best supervision feels like a deep breath after holding it too long. That's what I offer."

  • "Come as you are — overwhelmed, hopeful, tired, curious. There's a place for you here."
